Is it Friday YET???

WickedFirst of all, I have to give props to my fiance, as we went to see “Wicked” the musical, and he has never seen a Broadway production musical before… and he loved it! How could you not though, Wicked is great! This was the second time I had seen it, my mother and I went several months ago and we saw the current Broadway cast who was on tour at the time, including Carol Kane and the guy who played Steve on Married with Children. Most of those were understudies for the original Broadway Cast (Idina Menzel, Kristen Chenoweth, Joel Gray, etc.) so needless to say they were spectacular. The production here was still great, but it was definitely better the last time - but I’d see that show anytime, anywhere. After seeing the show, my fiance said that he wanted to see other shows, so woohoo!!! I miss getting to go with my mother to shows, that was our thing, as we are the only ones in the family that enjoy that - my sister falls asleep and my stepdad hates to go, so basically Mom and I are the cultured ones. We’d make it our little adventure whenever we went. I remember we had 3rd row seats to Beauty and the Beast, which was incredible, fireworks and all, would love to go again. We saw The Scarlet Pimpernel in a theater with HORRIBLE acoustics (but I still like that show), Jekyll and Hyde, The Music Man, RENT, you name it. Our last shows before I moved were The Producers, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Wicked - talk about a killer line-up. TMM was hilarious, as was Producers. Those are great memories with Mom that I will never forget, and I love that it was just her and I going, great bonding experience. Ever since RENT the movie came out, she has been obsessed - we went to see the movie twice before I moved away, and I got her the soundtrack which she plays over and over in the car, haha (I hate to admit it, but I do that too sometimes).. now she’s stuck on the Wicked soundtrack, and the future hubby and I bought her a shirt at the show, which I will have to give to her when we take a family trip this summer.

Me, my stepdad and Mom are going to New England to go sailing around Cape Cod for a week - pretty cool huh! They went with my little sister and her friend last summer through the Carribbean, which I had to miss out on as I was finishing school (blehhhhh) so I was totally bummed that I didn’t get to go the last time. I am excited that I waited though, as this trip should be great. I was reading that the wildlife up in that area of the ocean is thriving this time of year, and the sail shouldn’t be as aggressive as the Carribbean, so my parents say. They also sailed during hurricane season last year, so no wonder it was a rough ride. Anyway, I wish the fiance could go, but he has to work. Although he will be missed, I’m sure it will still be a fun trip.

Anyway, I am still awaiting Friday… this has been a lonnnnng week. And today and tomorrow should supposedly be long as well. We just had a meeting about all the things we need to work on this week and next week, and since so many people are out, guess who gets to stay late and finish most of these projects? You guessed it, yours truly.

Speaking of those projects, I had best get back, so here are my lists and have a “Wicked” great day!

- People who act like they know EVERYTHING about EVERYONE (and say the dumbest stuff)

Oh P.S. I reeeeallly want to see the new XMen movie this weekend, it looks so cool!!!

New Blogger - Joe’s Fiance

Hey there Joe fans, this is Joe’s fiancé Brooke and there has been a special request that I move my Yahoo 360 blog (B-log) to incorporate it with Joe’s so that you guys get some new and “exciting” content as Joe hasn’t been good at updating the blog in the past few…weeks. So the next few posts will be from my blog, moving over to Joe’s - I apologize that some of them are a bit out-dated, but at the very least there should be plenty to read when I’m through transferring. Anyway, if any of you have any suggestions on content for me to nix/add in upcoming posts, just let me know and I will be glad to oblige. Have a good one!

Mexican radio…. (wo-oo) Ugh, I love Mexican food but it makes you so full, even their salads! We had a team morale lunch today, got everyone out of the office for awhile, which was good. My boss just caught the Grey’s finale so he had a zillion questions about the show up to that point - so that was fun to bring him up to speed on the show.
TiVo is here today for a meeting (YAY!!! FINALLY!!!) - they have been rescheduling since January, so you can imagine how long I’ve been eagerly anticipating this meeting. I am a TiVo junkie… if I wanted to make only $30k per year and drive a VW bug, I’d be the new TiVo spokesperson (the biggest TiVo fan hired to drive their TiVo decorated VW bug across the country to promote TiVo all year for $30k - kinda cool, but eh, I’ll pass). Anyway, gotta go to meetings, so here are my lists.
First 5 shuffled songs on my DJ:
1. Disesase - Matchbox Twenty
2. Home - Michael Buble
3. Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles
4. Adia - Sarah Mclachlan
5. Accidentally in Love - Counting Crows

TiVo tonight:
1. American Idol - down to the final 2 (I’m kinda over this season)
2. DVD - The Producers (doubt it will be as good as the musical live but oh well)

Top food of the day: Salsa! (ay ay ay)

Post 2 from May 16, 2006

So I admit it, I’m a tad bored at work right now.

Here’s the result of my boredom:

Movies I have slept through in my lifetime (thus far):
1. The Majestic - Jim Carrey and serious acting? zzzzz
2. Crossroads - Britney Spears acting, nuf said
3. North - young Elijah Woods divorces from his parents and searches for new ones

Names that frustrate me:
(no offense if this is your name but everyone is entitled to their own opinion)
1. Deanne pronounced like Dee-nah
2. Wadine
3. Asshole - this one requires a story - not from me, but from a friend

Sadly this is a true story. A young (very young) girl had a baby in the hospital where a friend of mine works as a nurse. The nurse asked the young girl for the baby’s name for the birth certificate. The girl replied that the baby’s name would be (pronounced) Ah-shol-ee. The nurse wasn’t sure how to spell it so of course she asked the young mom to spell it for her. A-S-S-H-O-L-E. Asholey is how she’s saying it but that’s how she wanted it spelled. My friend turned to this young girl’s mom, showed her the paper and said “this is how your daughter wants to spell the baby’s name.” The mom said it was fine. They would not change their mind. Apparently there is a little girl living in Connecticut named Asshole.

Allright folks, I’m gone for the day. Until tomorrow!

From May 16, 2006

Ugh, I hate finding dead bugs in the house. The exterminator just came by, and maybe it’s because he just came by that they are all coming out of the woodworks to expire, but yuck yuck yuck!

On a positive note, the Grey’s Anatomy finale last night was awesome. Although, for the first episode ever, I found myself rooting for Meredith and Finn versus Meredith and McDreamy - what’s up with that?!? I guess after the whole moving on talk, I figured this relationship was dunzo, and I guess I was looking forward to seeing where it went with Grey and the vet, as he’s pretty cute for being a scruffy Chris O’Donnell (who I will mentally block out as being Robin in Batman and Robin several years back in order for him to sustain his cuteness on the show). That’s sad about Doc, I teared up when they put him to sleep - so sad. And I hate to say it, but it’s kind of sweet how much Alex loves Izzy - but WTF about her quitting?!? Is this so that she can further her career in films, is that why she’s leaving a hit show? Or are they keeping her on, and will she become a nurse or something - that would be fine, just don’t kick her off the show!

Okay, it is obvious that I love this show too much, moving on, sorry *phew*

People at work are driving me nuts today. The finance lady from New Yawwwwk ALWAYS talks ALL DAY about TV from the night before. So Monday was Grey’s Anatomy analysis and recap - as if we all hadn’t seen it! - and today is Grey’s Anatomy finale talk, and tomorrow and Thursday will be American Idol talk - oh that’s her favorite, she tawwwlks and tawwwwlks about Elliott Yamin, her favorite and who’s going to win and why and who will get kicked off and why and why Ryan Seacrest’s tie is this color and yak yak yak yak yak!!!! It drives me up the wall, not because I’ve seen the shows, but because this lady talks about this stuff ALL DAY! I mean seriously, everyone who calls her - we’re talking random people in accounting who probably have better things to do - gets her analysis and hypothesis on whatever show was on the other night for HOURS. It’s very annoying once you’ve heard the stories the first 10 times. Oh and don’t get her started on how great her DirecTv TiVO is that it records 2 shows at once and all bow down to her technological superiority.

There’s another guy at my office that thinks he’s a techy and celeb gossip know it all too,. I hate schmucks who act like they know everything about everything and everyone. Blech! I’m not saying I’m perfect, but at least I don’t go around spewing my self-imposed superiority on everyone. I much prefer to gripe about those types under my breath - or in my blog!

Anyway, sorry about the nagging blog today, here are today’s lists.
